The Vassalboro Fire Department Firefighters are trained to the Firefighter 1 Level using the Jones and Bartlett "Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills". All Members must be at least 18 years of age, have a clean driving record , no criminal record and must meet medical requirements. Each firefighter is responsible for knowing and understanding the Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG's). They cover a range from grooming standards to emergency scene operations.
